The beautician training centre was established in 2015 in Jhilmil Colony to help women and girls from underprivileged sections of the society to become economically self-reliant. Various beautician courses have been introduced at the centre as part of Mishra Memorial’s women’s empowerment programme through vocational training. The centre has become an instant hit with girls and women in the area. Educated and not-so-educated girls and women both married and unmarried, enroll themselves for a range of courses offered. In the past two years, many candidates graduated from the centre have either started beauty parlours of their own or are working as employees at such parlours while yet others are running their own training centre. Thanks to the beautician courses all these girls and women could be able to earn a living on their own to support their families or supplement their family income and thereby improve their standard of living.
